THE CHALLENGE

The customer faced a significant challenge in procuring and delivering Cisco Firewalls for their critical manufacturing sites across multiple regions and countries, including China, Indonesia, Taiwan, India, Sri Lanka, Nigeria, and Mexico.

The customer approached us, seeking support with their firewall upgrade program, after experiencing significant delays in sourcing and delivering the required devices. The initial estimates for product availability and delivery to the UK were estimated at three months, with no clear timescales or assurances for the onward delivery to the required countries due to import and customs requirements.

NSC’S SOLUTION

We engaged our procurement team, who immediately contacted multiple suppliers globally to secure the required 26 devices.

Our team managed to secure the devices and have them all delivered from various locations to our UK staging and logistics warehouse within a matter of weeks. During this time, we also engaged a project manager and logistics manager to plan the delivery and customs and excise paperwork required to ensure the timely and smooth delivery of the products to the relevant customer country locations.

With the support of our in-country shipping agents, our experts ensured that all firewalls were delivered without delay, despite the strict customs and legal requirements in the individual countries.

RESULTS

We successfully reduced the customer’s initial project delivery timescale estimate from a potential 6-8 months to just two months.

Our team delivered the project with zero customs delays due to our deep knowledge and preparation of the formal compliance documentation required by the various countries’ import rules.

In addition, we sourced and included the specific cables required for different in-country compatibility requirements, where the manufacturer was quoting a lead time of 203 days.

Our outstanding performance earned us another project, with the customer entrusting us to deliver additional firewalls to Morocco, India, UAE, Pakistan, Bolivia, Argentina, Venezuela, Australia, and the USA.
