What is my role at NSC?
I’ve worked in IT for over 20 years and joined NSC in 2021 as a Network Field Engineer. I install routers, switches, and access points across UK sites, collaborating with remote teams and adhering to strict health and safety standards on client projects.
Why did I join NSC?
NSC looked like an interesting and dynamic place to work. The variety of client projects and the opportunity to apply my technical skills across different environments appealed to me, as did the challenge of field-based engineering.
My journey
Throughout my career, I’ve worked on a wide range of IT installations. Since joining NSC, I’ve supported major clients like WBA Boots, Tesco, and Hilton Hotels. Each job has enhanced my adaptability, teamwork, and technical communication skills.
What drives me?
Proper planning and preparation are what I value most. I take pride in knowing a job has been completed thoroughly and professionally. Walking away from a successful install, knowing it was done right, is what motivates me every day.
Beyond the office
I enjoy spending time outdoors, whether it’s walking, hiking, or simply enjoying nature. It helps me recharge and stay balanced, especially after busy projects and long days on the road installing networks around the UK.
What quote inspires me?
Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out.
My advice for someone wanting to join
NSC is a great fit if you’re adaptable, take pride in your work, and value strong teamwork. The projects are varied and fast-moving, and there’s a real sense of accomplishment when you help deliver something that works and meets the client’s needs.
